TROPIC — Sarah Louise Porter Sudweeks at the age of 69 returned to her Father in Heaven on August 6, 2011. She will join her son, Claude Brendon Sudweeks and her Parents Lysander LeRoy and Sarah Porter and three siblings: Leah Wilson, Lilith Wilson and Eldan Porter. She is survived by her husband, DeRell and five children: Rell K. (Suzy) Sudweeks, Lou Jean (Richard) Leavitt, Anita (Rocky) Melton, Florene Sudweeks and Bob (Billie Jo) Sudweeks, Grandson: Jeffrey Wayne(Heather) Sudweeks, 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and expecting two more. Siblings: Norman Porter, LaRue Porter, LaPerele Jordan, Laura Thompson and Zelma Johnson.
Sarah was born December 27, 1941 in Hatch, Utah and grew up in Hatch, Utah. She graduated from Panguitch High School in May 1960 and married DeRell F. Sudweeks on December 24, 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized August 1, 1986 in the St. George Temple. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December of 2010.
Sarah lived a life of service to all who knew her and she will be missed greatly. She passed away in her home surrounded by all her family who love her very deeply. Thank you to all who have rendered service to the family and extended your condolences.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, at 1:00 pm in the Tropic Chapel. Viewing will be from 11am to 12:30 pm. Grave side services will be held at the Tropic Cemetery.
