Alfred O. Anderson, 68, of the Estherville-Huntington area, died Saturday [July 4, 1959] at 5:20 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. He had been seriously ill for the past three weeks.
He was born April 6, 1891, near Allison, the son of Adam and Christine Anderson and one of eight children.
The family moved to Emmet County in 1895, and Anderson made his home the same farm until four years ago when he returned to an acreage near Huntington.
He was married to Hazel King in 1918. Their children are Mrs. Roy B. (Eileen) Martin Jr. of Clear Lake; Mrs. Paul (Marilyn) Conrad, Falls Church, Va.; and Bruce, Estherville. Other survivors include six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Huntingtin Methodist Church, the Rev. Cloyd Bishop officiating. A family service will be held at the Anderson home at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the Sternborg Funeral Home until time of services. Pallbearers are H.R. Aagard, Milton Aagard, Jess Rosburg, Joe Timmons, Henry Anderson, Harry Peterson. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Opelt, Thomas Juhl, George Bartleman, Roy Tirevold, Harry Rosburg and Levi Larson.
