Jones spent her early years on the farm near Putnam. At the age of five, she moved with her family to a farm west of Arapaho.
She attended the Arapaho Schools and graduated there in 1942.
She married Warren LaFever, and he preceded her in death in the early 1980's.
On Oct. 30, 1988 she married Udel "Hoot" Jones, and they made their home in Clinton where she worked at Kelley's Paint Store and the Dairy Queen.
She spent most of her working life, however, babysitting in her home.
She was a charter member of the Custer Avenue Baptist Church and also a member of AARP.
In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents and first husband, were a brother, Lloyd; and a sister, Elizabeth Bozarth.
Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Udell, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Crumpler and her husband, Bob, of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandsons, Nathan Wade and his wife, Patti, of Holly Springs, Fla., Tim Wade of North Carolina; three great granddaughters, Brittani, Bethani, Taiyler; a great grandson, Tim Wade Jr.; a sister, Beryl Kelley and her husband, Bill, of Clinton; and a brother, Myron Alexander and his wife, Ruth, of Florida.
