Note: Note: Richard William Harper, M. D. , was the eldest of seven children born to WILLIAM CARROL HARPER, called "Squire Harper" (born 13 December1822 in Robertson County, Tennessee) and SUSAN JANE MATTHEWS ; they were married 5 March 1845 in Robertson County, Tennessee, and moved to Butle r County, Kentucky when Richard was a small boy. Richard was born 16 June 1847 near Springfield, Tennessee, died 15 December 1927, and is buried in the Concord Methodist Church Cemetery, Quality, Butler County. He attended medical school at the University of Louisville, and he practiced medicine in his home community, covering an area which extended from Beechland in Logan County to Union in Butler County.
