Stratford residents today mourn the loss of Ron Bergman who died Saturday night at 1:30 a.m. in an accident.

The Webster County Sheriff's office said the Ronald G. Bergman pick-up truck swerved off the road and landed on its top in the ditch about 8 miles west of Stratford. Bergman reportedly died while enroute to Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. A passenger in the pick-up, Wayne Soder, sustained a broken collar bone and pulled shoulder.

Ronald Gene Bergman, 43, died Saturday morning, May 11, 1985, as the result of an accident.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Pastor Jenny Edinger officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery with Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ronald G. Bergman, son of Lester and Dorothy Hallman Bergman, was born July 9, 1941 in Webster City.

He was married June 28, 1959 to Lois Sampson at the Stratford Lutheran Church and the couple farmed north of Stratford. He also was the co-owner of the Pioneer Restaurant in Stratford.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Tim and Danny at home; one daughter, Chris Wilhelm of Duncombe; a granddaughter, Nicole Wilhelm and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bergman of Stratford; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one nephew.

Ardelle Phipps was the organist at the service with Phil Berglund being the soloist.

Pallbearers were Dale Harris, Donald Swanson, John Bergquist, Dick Vinchattle, Marvin D. Johnson, J.D. Gonder. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Anholt and Wayne Soder.
