John Benson, 78, Stratford, Dead
John Benson, 78, a retired farmer from Stratford, died Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Boone County hospital where he had been a patient for a week. Mr. Benson was born in Sweden and came to the Stratford community in 1902. He had been a resident at the Iowa Lutheran Home in Madrid.
Surviving Mr. Benson is one son, Harold of Stratford. His wife, Anna, preceded hi in death in 1945.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 2 o'clock from the Stratford Lutheran church with the Rev. Robert Carlson officiating. The Hanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.

Services Held for John Benson, 78
Mr. John Benson, 78, a retired farmer of the Stratford community died Saturday, February 3 at the Boone County Hospital, where he had been a patient for about a week. Mr. Benson has been a resident of the Lutheran home for the aged the past few years.
He was born in Sweden December 24, 1882, and came to America to settle in this community in 1902.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with the Pastor Robert Carlson officiating. Burial was held at Oakwood Cemetery and Hanson Funeral Home of Stratford was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by one son, Harold of Stratford. His wife Anna preceded him in death in 1945.
