Bonnie Lou Hertig, 63, of Inverness, Florida, formerly of Macomb, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County. She was born on November 14, 1941, in Macomb, the daughter of Thomas and Marjorie (Bowers) Brown, Sr. She is survived by her husband Mitchel Hertig of Inverness, Fla.; her mother Marjorie Brown of Macomb; five daughters, Deborah (Brian) Dickerson of Hamilton, Pamela Thompson of Inverness, Fla., Angela Hainline of Inverness, Fla., Jennifer (Michael) Palmer of Bloomington, Candace (Thomas) Leary of Belleville; three step children, Joseph (Christine) Hertig of Missoula, Mont., Mitchel J. Hertig, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Amanda (Justin) Cullinan of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Diana Scott of Colorado Springs, Color., Janet Stokes of London Mills; one brother Craig Brown of Gilbert, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Brown, Sr.; first husband Virgil Geer and one brother Thomas Brown, Jr.
Mrs. Hertig was the owner of American Family Insurance Agency in Keokuk, Iowa. She moved to Inverness, Fla. in 1998 from Hamilton. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, Fla. and the Inverness Golf and Country Club. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Macomb with Monsignor Richard Pricco officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Memorials may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America, 158 West 29th St., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001-5300.
