Shelby Township Farmer Dies

Rites for William P. Hey To Be Conducted Friday

A paralytic stroke which he suffered on March 12 caused the death of William P. Hey, widely known Shelby Township farmer at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Hey, who was 76 years of age, died at the Maple Convalescent Home at Fountaintown.
He was the son of Peter and Minerva (Maple) Hey and always had lived at the Shelby township home where he was born on January 4, 1873. He never was married.
He is survived by two sisters Mrs. Delmon Clark of Washington township and Mrs. Oscar Smith of Shelby township and three brothers, Danny Hey of Shelby township; Charles of Noble township and George with whom he resided.
Mr. Hey was a member of the First Evangelical Church in this city.
Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Mortuary Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. E. L. Ford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 3:30 p.m. Thursday and are asked to omit flowers. (Obit: The Shelbyville Democrat, Mar 23, 1949)
