Businessman. Early in his career, Eugene McDonald was an automobile salesman. During World War I he served in the naval intelligence service, where he operated a telegraphone. He founded Zenith Radio in 1921. His involvement in the development of new technology and his marketing led to the first portable multiband radio and the first television remote control.
