Rev Samuel L. Ross, 79, retired Pentecostal minister, died Thursday at his home at 1501 NW 3. In failing health for about a year, he had been critically ill for a brief time. Mr Ross was active in the ministry for 54 years prior to his retirement some time ago.
Born in Arkansas, he came to Oklahoma in 1930 and pastored churches at Chelsea, Skiatook, Blackwell, & Guthrie before moving to Oklahoma City 18 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Janie, 2 daughters, Mrs Gladys Wampler of Amber, & Mrs Stella Wilder of Pittsfield, ILL, and a son, Phillip Ross of Berkley, Calif. There is also a sister, Mrs Esther Spence of Pittsburg, Kans, 1 brother, Carlos Ross of Lancaster, Calif, 8 grandchildren, & 6 great grandchildren. Services will be announced later by Street & Draper funeral home.
