Kenneth L. Brown, age 57, of Portage passed away Friday, January 23, 2004.
He was formerly of Valparaiso and was born and raised in Hobart.
He was a member of the M.L. McClelland Lodge #357 F.&A.M. and he worked at Verizon Cable for 21 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His passions were bowling and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, "Bobbie" Barb Brown of Portage, his parents, Emmett and Dorothy Brown of Portage; three children, Kenneth L. Brown II of Valparaiso, Kary L. Brown of Valparaiso and Jason (Jennifer) Collins of Hobart; five grandchildren: Arrianna Star Brown, Zachary, Hayley and Trinity Collins and Lindsey; four uncles, Donnie (Diane) Brown, Larry (Sally) Brown, Jerry Brown and Bill (Izzy) Brown; three aunts, June (Glen) Hefner of kouts, Lucille (Earl) Reinhart and Helen Crowe all of Hobart; one sister-in-law, Debra (Jerry) Moore of Hammond; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Porter County VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette St. Valparaiso, IN 46485.
Funeral services are Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville.
Visitation is Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. with Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
