US Congressman. He graduated from St. Joseph's College, in 1916 and during World War I, served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he graduated from the law department of the University of Pennsylvania, admitted to the bar in 1921 and commenced to practice law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the law faculty at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, (1924-29), a member of the Philadelphia Board of Law Examiners (1928-40) and assistant district attorney Philadelphia, (1928-35). In 1935, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-fourth Congress, serving until 1937. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was appointed judge of Common Pleas Court of Philadelphia, in 1939 and served until his death at age 56.
