WATERTOWN — Mrs. Pearl (Falzone) Balch, 92, of Meadowcrest Lane, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Franklin H. Balch Jr.

Pearl was born in Waterbury Sept. 1, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Olinda (Immella) Falzone. She was raised in Waterbury and had lived in Morris for many years before moving to Watertown. She was the secretary at Patent Button Co. in Waterbury, until her retirement, and she and her husband ran a garden nursery out of their home in Morris for several years. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

A kind-hearted and caring person, Pearl worried about everyone and went out of her way to make sure no one went without. She was a great cook and excellent baker who loved her home and took pride in its immaculate appearance. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a sharp mind and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Pearl leaves two nieces, Linda Evon of Camden, Del., and Carol Evon of Reading, Pa. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ida Falzone and Carmela Evon.

Gravesides services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Platt Road. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St.
