J. W. Seely, familiarly known as "Wes" Seely, an old and well-known resident of Pawnee county, died at his home in the southwest part of Larned last Friday afternoon, December 30th, at 2:30 oclock, at the age of 70 years and five months.
Mr. Seely was born in Pennsylvania. He came to Pawnee county in the early 70's and was one of the pioneer settlers of this section of the country. He was active in the affairs of the community for many years, until recent years when old age and resulting infirmities retired him from active service in the battles of life.
Funeral services were conducted from the home last Saturday afternoon, Rev. F. W. Imboden officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Larned cemetery.
