He recieved Christian instruction and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1904, and was a faithful member of the church ever since his confirmation. In 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Ellison and the union was blessed with 2 children, Phyllis and Theodore jr. He was most of his time in the employment of the PRR Company (Pennsylvania Railroad) and during later years he was also engaged in the implement business. His health had been failing and he was under a doctors care for a long time, and he passed away at the Springhouse Hospital, near Philadelphia, December 1,1923 at the age of 33 years 5 months and 7 days.

The following near relatives are left to mourn his untimely death. His wife Mrs Gertrude Johnson, and 2 children Phyllis, and Theodore, his parents Mr & Mrs Henry Johnson, four brothers, Berger, Harry, Albert and Ralph Johnson and five sisters; Mrs J.A. Bensen, of Du Bois. Mrs Algot Anderson and Mrs Carl Holmes of Port Allegany. Miss Nellie and Ruth Johnson also of Port Allegany. Besides a number of other relatives and a great number of friends, many from early childhood mourn his loss.

Mr Johnson was an exemplary Christian young man, sincere and honest, and he was therefore highly respected by all who made his acquaintance and had any dealings with him. He was very kindhearted and whenever you met him, he had always a kind word and a smile for all. He was a faithful and active member of our Lutheran Church, and he served for nearly 3 years on the church council as deacon. He was also a highly respected member of the Masonic Order. He was above all a devoted husband and a loving father and the sweetest memories of his noble life will always be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones. His loss will be felt everywhere but most keenly among those near and dear.
Funeral services were held in the family home on Ann St and at the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran church, Wednesday afternoon. The church was filled to its utmost capacity with sympathizing friends who came to pay their last respects to the memory of the departed. The stores in town also being closed during the funeral ceremony in respect for him. The local Masonic Lodge attended in a body. The pastor of the church assisted by Rev. D. Lloyd officiated. A mixed quartet rendered appropriate songs. The floral offerings were profuse and most beautiful, conveying tho the mourners a sweet message of love and sympathy. The funeral services over, the funeral cortege proceeded to Fairview cemetery where the remains were tenderly committed to the earth, there to await the glorious morning of the Resurrection.
