Henry E. "Bird" Thrasher, 81, formerly of Dorsey, died Sept. 26, 2005, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. He was born March 31, 1924, in Itawamba County to the late Henry Harold and Mattie Spradling Thrasher. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Services were Sept. 29 at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with burial in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Sawyer and Earl of Tupelo, and Sherron Moore and husband, Gary, of Amory; seven grandchildren, Keith Sawyer and wife, Melody, Chris Sawyer and wife, Candy, Christy Randolph and husband, Brad, Tracey Whitfield, Scotty Moore and wife, Wendy, Shay Moore, and Josh Moore and wife, Courtney; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Dean and Nick Dean; 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Nell Brooks Thrasher, in 1999; two infant sons, Gary Wayne and Travis Earl; two brothers, Bobby Thrasher and Durrell Thrasher; an infant sister; and his parents.
