Amos is buried in the Tomb in the hill at the South Cemetery. He lived on the farm at 74 Pepperell Road and may have been a blacksmith like his father. He fought in the Revolutionary War as one of the Hollis Minutement in Lexington in 1775 and in the New York campaign of 1776. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant. He also served his town as Moderator in 1805, as the Town Clerk in 1806 as well as Selectman in 1806. For many years he was also a Justice of the Peace.
