Birth date could be 14 May 1598, but have found no supporting documentation.

6 Sep 1620, embarked from Plymouth, Devon, England on the “Mayflower” - Christopher Jones, Master - on its first voyage to America as a “servant” to Stephen Hopkins. Arrived 9 Nov 1620 at Plymouth, MA.

One of the 41 signers of the "Mayflower Compact", 11 Nov 1620, which was the first governing document of Plymouth Colony. It was written by the Separatists, sometimes referred to as the "Saints", fleeing from religious persecution by King James of England.

18 Jun 1621 - Involved in the “second” offense recorded in the police court records, “the challenge of single combat with sword and dagger between Edward Doty and Edward Leister.” “Both were wounded. one in the hand the other in the thigh, and were adjudged by the whole to have their head and feet tied together with no food or drink for 24 hours. Within an hour, because of their great pain plus their own and their master’s humble request with the promise of better carriage, they were released by the Governor.”

1624 - Granted one acre on what is now known as Watson’s Hill. The lots “lye on the South side of the brook to the woodward opposite the former.”

On 22 May 1627, during the division of cattle and goats, the 4th lot fell to John Howland & his company joined to him - his wife, Elizabeth, and their children - John & Desire, plus William Wright, Thomas Morton Hr, John Alden & his wife, Priscilla, plus children - Elizabeth & John Jr, as well as Clement Briggs, Edward Dalton/Doty & Edward Holman. To this lot fell one of the four Heifers that came in the Jacob, called Raghorn.

Edward Doty and Faith Clarke married 6 Jan 1635 at Plymouth, MA. To this union were born nine children (eight are linked to this memorial.) The missing child is Elizabeth, born ~1647 and died 7 Apr 1742. She married (1) John Rouse Jr 13 Jan 1675 and (2) William Carver 28 Jan 1719.
