Michael passed away suddenly at Lions Gate Hospital.A well known West Vancouver businessman, founder of Global Media.com and Motorcycles Galore Inc. He is survived by his wife Kati Ilona Metcalfe; his son Jackie; his daughter Daisy; his parents Ben and Dorothy Metcalfe and his sister Michelle Metcalfe. Michael's younger brother Christopher predeceased him in 1980. Prayer services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2725 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver. A Funeral Mass followed by a reception will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2002 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Michael served in the Airborne Division of the Canadian Armed Forces and his interment will take place in the Veteran's section of Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver. A Michael Metcalfe Memorial Trust Fund to support the rehabilitative work of those in the field of drug and alcohol abuse is being established at Canada Trust, Park Royal Branch, West Vancouver.
