Guy Neil Willits was born December, 29, 1921 in Stillwater, OK to Guy Henry Willits and Marie (DeMoss) Willits. Neil passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the age of 89.

He graduated Central High in 1939 and attended Oklahoma University. He served in the U.S. Navy. After graduating from Spartan School of Radio, he was an Instructor there three years. He was one of the original KOTV engineers who put the station on the air in 1949 and also an employee of KOED. Neil retired from KOTV as an Engineer. He taught TV courses at University of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Maurine Leitch, and a great grandson, Taylor Willits. Neil is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dolores; two sons, Larry and Joe; a grandson, Will; granddaughters, Kelly, Lisa, and Marisa and eight great grandchildren. Memorial Service at Asbury UMC Mason Chapel 11:00 A.M. Thursday. Private burial service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK 74133 or St. Francis Hospice, 6600 S. Yale Ave. Suite 350, Tulsa, OK 74136.
