Andreas K. Ohnstad emigrated from Aurland in 1852 with his brothers Peder
and Johannes and came to Koshkonong, WI. In 1854 Andreas came on to Black
Hammer to join brother Peder and family. Andreas began a homestead of 200
acres in the same neighborhood as Peder. Andreas served in the Civil War
from 1864-1865. He was married to Gunhild Marie Lunde born 1845 in
Ringerike, Norway, the daughter of Amund Gulbrandsen Lunde and Sigri
Ostensdtr. Guberud Lunde who resided in nearby Wilmington township.
Gunhild's sister, Kari Lunde, married Ivar Botolvsen Berekvam and were
neighbors to the east in Caledonia township (Beaver Ridge).
