Born 20 Feb 1883 according to his birth record from Dr. Blackwood's ledger, New Castle Library and his WWI draft card. *Tombstone was engraved with wrong year*

Even though Carl Blackwood Campbell is now gone, his family still misses him. Known as a good man by many locals, he was a very kind and gentle man who did not smoke or drink. He was born to Thomas Jasper and Mary Amanda Kelley Campbell on Pine Street in New Castle and later moving to Pittsburgh around 1890. He lost his mother to cancer when he was 18 in 1902 and his father to a stroke when he was 31 in 1915. Both of his parents were natives to Butler. He was married in 1910 to Jessie Fern Lefever whom he met in Middlesex, Butler, Pennsylvania, near Valencia. They move to New Galilee and lived on the Greer Farm where he had 4 wonderful children and work on the P L & W Rail Road. In 1928 he suffered from a rail road accent involving a water pipe to feed the steam engine. The pipe collapsed and hit him on the head which causing an embolism which led his passing. He died Sunday morning at his home in New Galilee while laughing at a joke and playing with his children in the kitchen.

You will surely be missed and we still love you Carl.

Originally buried in Little Beaver Cemetery, he was moved some time in the mid 70s to Grandview.
Note, wrong birth date inscribed on stone. Conflicts with original birth record from the city of New Castle.
