He then served as an emergency room physician at Mercy Medical Center until his retirement in 1986. His eldest son, John (Margaret Shannon), born 1953 is a physician in Milwaukee. Daughter Marcia (Wes Janz), born 1955, is an executive in the advertising field in Indianapolis. Son Thomas (Jennifer Dowd), born 1957, is a composer and owner of Maestro & Fox Music in Shreveport, LA.
