Mr. Jackie Lawrence Leonard, 60, of 3035 Lambsburg Road, Lambsburg, VA, passed away early Saturday morning, August 6, 2011. Mr. Leonard was born February 23, 1951, in Surry County, the son of Maleta Blackburn Leonard and the late Guy Leonard. Jackie was a self-employed auto body mechanic and attended Lambsburg Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Teresa "Terry" Stone Leonard of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Brad Cagle of Cana, VA, and Nikki and Stephen Cannoy of Lambsburg, VA; a stepson and his wife, Jody and Stephanie Stone of Shakopee, MN; four grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, Hayden Cannoy and Hannah Cannoy, both of Lambsburg, VA, and Nicholas Stone and Skyler Stone, both of Shakopee, MN; his mother, Maleta Blackburn Leonard of Galax, VA; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Martha Stone of Cana, VA; three sisters-in-law and their spouses, Lottie Greene of Galax, VA, Darlene and Joe Ardito of Hillsville, VA, and Lynn and John DeHart of Cameron; three nieces; four nephews; six great nieces; two great nephews; and a special friend, Kenneth Potts of Claudville, VA. In addition to his father, Mr. Leonard was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Leonard and Frank Leonard; and a sister-in-law, Orene Leonard. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Lambsburg Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Verlon Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Hawks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lambsburg Community Center, P.O.
