Mrs. Amy Alitia (Stockham) Hamlin died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Rogers, in Fairbury, Nebraska., Wednesday, May 25, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 11 days.

Her name before her marriage was Amy A. Stockham and she was born March 14, 1836 in a town named Jamesville, Ohio. Jamesville, as a town name does not come up on Findagrave's listed towns nor could it be found in the program called "Place Finder, but family documents say this is where she was born.

She was married to Harvey Hamlin in Dekalb or Sandwich, Illinois, November, 1858. Since her father was the Justice of the Peace, he married them. They moved to Thayer county in 1869, settling on a farm near Reynolds, which was the home for many years. Her husband, Harvey died in 1895. Mrs. Hamlin came to Fairbury to live 14 years ago. She leaves three children, Mrs. Mary Rogers, Fairbury; John H. Hamlin, Norwalk, Calif.; A. L. Hamlin, Wichita, Kans. Joseph Hamlin, another son, died a year ago. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church, Friday at 2 p. m. and burial will be in the Rose Creek cemetery near Reynolds.
