ELKANAH H. DURBIN.
WINDFALL ~ (Tribune Area Special) ~ Elkanah H. Durbin, 85, a former resident here, died at his home in Clarksville, Hamilton County, at 12:30 p. m. Wednesday. A retired farmer, death resulted from a complication of diseases. Mr. Durbin suffered a stroke four years ago.
He was born Oct. 28, 1868, in Shelby County, the son of Thomas N. and Mariah (Hoban) Durbin. He married Alice Retherford who died in 1943.
Surviving are a son, J. B. Durbin of Noblesville; two daughters, Mrs. E. B. Moser of Windfall and Mrs. Theresa Stern of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The deceased was a member of the Christian Church at Clarksville and Masonic Lodge No. 118.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Windfall Methodist Church and burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery..
The body is at the Pritchard Funeral Home where friends may call. It will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. to lie in state for an hour before the service. Masonic rites will be conducted at the grave.
