Records show that Andrew Clark Hefner pvt.Co.D,22nd Reg. Tex.Cav.C.S.A. also known as Merricks Dismounted Tex. Cav., enlisted Dec 15,1861 at Greenville.and on muster roll for May and June 1863,is shown present. Name appears on muster roll for Jan. and Feb. 1864. Discharged 24 May 1865 at Millican Texas. Description on discharge; 5'6" tall, fair complected, blue eyes, light hair, occupation farmer.

1/12/1916 DIES AT STATION (Wednesday)
Lawton, Jan. 11 – A.C. Hefner, aged 60 years, a resident of Frederick, died at the local station of the Frisco railroad at 6 o'clock Tuesday morning as he was preparing to board a train for his home. Heart disease was the cause of death. Mr. Hefner had been visiting relatives in New Mexico and was enroute to Frederick. A daughter arrived Tuesday afternoon from Frederick and a son from Ringling is expected Wednesday. The body will be sent to Frederick for burial.
