Educated in New York and Paris, she married General Paget in 1878, and there were three sons and a daughter of the marriage. After her marriage she took a prominent place in London society as a hostess, and as the promoter of numberless bazaars and other charitable functions. Her greatest success in the latter direction was the Masque of Peace and War at the Haymarket Theatre in the early days of the South African War.
