He enlisted as a private on May 12, 1862 in the Troup Artillery. He was transferred to Company C, Cobb’s Legion Cavalry Battalion on March 16, 1863 as a private. During the fall of 1863, he was at recruiting camp. On February 23, 1864, he was assigned to horse detail, and again on September 20, 1864. He surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina on April 30, 1865, and was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina on May 1, 1865.

Biographical Information: He was born May 1839 in Jackson County, Georgia. His parents were William M. and Louisa Boggs. In 1850 (Census), he was a 12-year-old student living in Jackson County, Georgia in the William M. Boggs household. He married Julianne Cash (September 4, 1834-March 27, 1921) on October 21, 1859 in Jackson County, Georgia. Among their children were: Eugenia America (January 10, 1861), Noah Milton (January 5, 1863), Martha Alice (June 7, 1865) and Mary Morris (1867). In 1860 (Census), he was living in Jackson County, Georgia. He was 22-year-old farmer and was with his wife Julia (1835). He died prior to 1870. In 1870, Julia Boggs was living in Jackson County, Georgia along with three children: Eugenia (1861), Martha (1866) and Lissa (1868). She was in the Benjamin W. Cash household. Milton is believed to be buried with his wife in Stone Family Cemetery, Hwy. 334 near Center, Jackson County, Georgia.
