Blues Musician. Known as "The Master of the Telecaster," he formed his own band in 1952 playing in the Houston, Texas area. In 1960 his album "Frosty" sold over one million copies and his career began to grow as his music was being played on blues radio stations around the United States. In 1978 his Grammy nominated album "Ice Pickin'" won "Best Blues Album of the Year" by the Montreaux Jazz Festival. His music was featured in the movie "Adventures in Babysitting." His album "Showdown" won a Grammy in 1985. According to Alligator Records he won "every award the blues world had to offer."
