ATKINS, LOIS WILBURN — age 73, resident of Athens Health Care Center, formerly of Etowah Health Care Center and South Main St., Sweetwater, passed away 12 noon Monday, June 29, 1987 at Athens Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late Amanda Haun Wilburn and Emory Henry Wilburn. Preceded in death by husband, Amos Atkins. The Atkins built and operated the Atkins Motel and Restaurant, Sweetwater, for many years. Survivors: sisters, Anna Lou Buckner, Athens, Ruby Sewell, Chattanooga; brothers, Glen Wilburn, Tampa, Fla., Starlyn and Buddy Wilburn, both of Athens; several nieces and nephews. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev G.L. Geran officiating. Interment McClellan Cemetery.
