Mrs. Rose I. Smart, 77, of 2826 Jordan Rd.,Weedsport, NY died Tuesday, February 14,1989 at Auburn Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months. She was born December 23, 1911 at Drummond, N.B. Canada the daughter of Leo and Julia Parent Poitras. Mrs. Smart lived most of her life in Montezuma until moving to DaytonaBeach, Florida in 1974 returning to the Weedsport area in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Weedsport and retired in 1972 from Sylvania GTE, Seneca Falls. Her husband, Lawrence P. Smart, died in 1985.
She is survived by three sons, Lawrence(Reg) Smart of Savannah, Sylvio J. Smart of Port Byron and Philip L. Smart of Lakeland, Florida; four daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Julia)
Henderson of Weedsport, Mrs. Leona Gove of Auburn, Mrs. Sylvia Davies of Daytona Beach, Florida and Mrs. William (Martha) Miccuci of Auburn; a brother, Leo Poitras of Carolina, Rhode Island; thirty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday.
