Virgil Gus Kilgore, 93, a fifty-year-plus resident of Roeland Park, KS, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011. Masonic Services will be held at 7 p.m., on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. Private burial of ashes at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Virgil was born on May 23, 1918 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. He was the son of Gus C. and Rebecca A. (Redus) Kilgore. Mr. Kilgore was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. Virgil was a member of Overland Park Masonic Lodge #436 and the Abdallah Shrine Temple. He was a longtime employee of Spencer Chemical and Montgomery Wards. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Cora J. Kilgore, on August 3, 2006 and his sister, Wilma Jean Hanks. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Brewer; son, Ronald Kilgore; son, Steve Kilgore, and wife, Sue; son, Hugh Kilgore, and wife, Mary Ann; grandchildren, Alexis Brewer, Dusty Kilgore, Brad Kilgore, Jarod Kilgore, Kaitlin Kilgore, Jay Konomos; great grandchildren, Tinley Kilgore, Jackson and Lucas Horn.
