METROPOLIS, Ill. Mr. Alfred H. Al Finney, 81, of Metropolis passed away Saturday morning, July 17, 2010, at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. The Rev. Joe Buchanan will officiate. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Alfred was retired from Missouri Portland Cement Company with over 23 years of service.
Alfred is survived by two daughters, Darlene Barnett and husband Dennis of Metropolis and Jean Story and husband Danny of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Jodi Balkey and husband Chris of Metropolis, Todd Barnett and wife Dana of Metropolis, Ryan Story of Metropolis and Tracy Story of Springfield, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Autumn Story, Jordan Barnett and Natalie Barnett, all of Metropolis; one brother, Paul Finney of Colp, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Susie Mann Finney; his wife, Aloha Lee Finney; three sisters; and six brothers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Memorials may be made to Parkinsons Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
Music will be provided by Karen Wemhoener, pianist, and Tam Foster, soloist.
