The community was saddened on Thursday last to learn of the passing of a well-beloved lady in the person of Joanna L. Mahoney, wife of the late Thomas J. Horkins. Mrs. Horkins passed away very quietly on Thursday. Though in poor health for some time, her death was a surprise and a shock to the folk of town and country.

A faithful member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, her life was spent largely between her home and her church, both of which she loved most devotedly. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League.
