Actor. He was a versatile character performer in more than 100 films and countless TV programs. After serving in the US Army Reserves, he broke into the acting scene in the New York Theatre and landed a small role in the made for TV movie, "The Kansas City Massacre" in the mid 1970s. Some of his memorable screen roles were performed in "Blazing Saddles" (1974), "Bladerunner" (1981), "48 Hrs." (1982), "Red Heat" (1988), "The Horror Show" (1989), "The Player" (1992), "The Fifth Element" (1997) and "Heist" (1998). For television, his credits included "Chips", "The Waltons", "Mork & Mindy", The A-Team", "Miami Vice", "Hunter", "Silk Stalkings" and "Millennium". He also appeared in five films which were released after his death with the last being, "Phoenix Point" (2005).
