Marjorie L. Sands - Pueblo Chieftain - July 17, 2003 - Marjorie L. Sands, daughter of Bruce R. McNamer and Lucy B. (Whetstone) McNamer died July 15, 2003. Born Aug. 8, 1916, in Cut Bank, Mont. Marjorie graduated from Shelby High School and the University of Montana. Following graduation, she taught school on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation in Browning, Mont., where she made home visits to the tribal members in their teepees. During the war, she worked in an aircraft factory in Los Angeles. She loved reading, writing, painting and playing bridge. She was a 50-year member of St. Patrick Parish. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sands; and brothers, Burke and Bob McNamer. Survived by her brothers, Hugh (Pat) and Bill (Elizabeth) McNamer; sister-in-law, Marge McNamer; daughters, Lucieann (Nick) Todero, and Maren (Les) Auerbach; and son, Bruce (Linda) Sands. Grandmother of Robert Todero, Lori (Michael) Feldman and Brendan Sands. Great-grandmother of Garrett and Mitchell Feldman. Also survived by special niece, Lynn McNamer Baker; as well as other nieces and nephews. Viewing, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Patrick Church. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Friends of the Library or the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home office.
