Jerusha was a double first cousin of Deacon David Skinner's first wife, Sarah Lord. She and David were married in Colchester on December 8, 1766. They lived "in that part of Colchester that was later set off to Marlborough". She came to Geneseo with her husband and several of their grown children in about 1803.
