Dixie Mae "Maw Maw" Cochran Coker

Mrs. Dixie Mae "Maw Maw" Cochran Coker, 87, of 201 Manning Mill Road, Adairsville, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 4, 2011, at the residence.

She was born in Adairsville, Aug. 19, 1923, daughter of the late Alfred "Bud" Cochran and Roxie Brady Cochran. Mrs. Coker was a member of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, enjoyed spending time with her family, and singing karaoke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Coker, and a son, Jerry Coker.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Eunice Coker of Adairsville, Lamar and Toni Coker of Cartersville, and Tommy and Sandy Coker of Adairsville; two daughters and son-in-law, Audrey and Joe McFarland of Adairsville and Angie Passmore of Adairsville; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Coker of Adairsville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beulah Mae Brown of Cartersville, Lois Gossett of Adairsville, Vera Reed of Cartersville, and Bessie Parker of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. from Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home.
