On 01 Dec 1887, Mary wed Carl Wilhelm Christian Jurgemeyer. In 1893, the couple had twin sons, Hugo Edwin and Eldo Edgar, born in Ireton, Sioux City, Iowa. In 1899, a daughter, Maia, was born in Bassett, Chickasaw, Iowa.
In 1905, her husband died in the St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Yakima, Yakima, Washington, and was buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.
In February 1907, she wed the Rev. Phillip Studt, Jr., a widower, whose wife had died in 1904. (Phillip had 8 children by his first wife, Sophia E Tatge.) Phillip died on 20 Nov 1913, in Rock Island, Illinois.
Memories of Grandma Studt by Wilma Jurgemeyer Cook:
"Mary Jurgemeyer Studt was a dainty and particular woman. She usually wore a long dress with an apron and wore her hair pulled back in a knot. She was a wonderful cook. She took great pains in preparing the food to be cooked. When she prepared green beans she cut each piece the same length and at an angle. Hugo learned this from his mother and was also very precise with the vegetables and everything he cooked. Each thing Ma Studt prepared looked pretty and appetizing."
