Floyd grew up in Firth, graduated from Iona High School in 1947, and served in Navy Fighter Squadron 51 during WWII. He married Leisa Walker on August 4, 1949, in Blackfoot. Their marriage was solemnized in Idaho Falls Temple on October 6, 1998. He worked as a farmer and an electrician. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a temple worker and as secretary in the High Priest Quorum. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing, boating, camping with his family, reading western novels and church books and doing jigsaw puzzles. Survivors beside Leisa included: children Wanett (Daniel) Hovey of Kennewick, WA, Kett Delynn (Debra) Gifford of Modesto, CA, Leann (Bruce) Grover of Idaho Falls and Tracy Floyd (Lori) Gifford of Rigby; sisters Joyce Monta (Jack) Gohr of Ucon and Venna Merle (Larry) Rockwood of Iona; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral Services held October 30th at Iona Stake Center at Ririe Highway & Iona Road. Bishop Mike Long of Iona 5th Ward officiated, Wood Funeral Home handled arrangements, and military Rites were performed by Bonneville County Veterans Team.
