Francis Henry Dodds (1858-1940) - Find a Grave Memorial

U.S. Congressman. He moved with his parents to Isabella County, Michigan, in 1866, graduated from Olivet College, and then taught school at Farwell and Mount Pleasant. He graduated from the law department of the University of Michigan, in 1880, was admitted to the bar and commenced the practice of law at Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He was Attorney of Mount Pleasant, (1892-94) and a member of the board of education, (1894-97). In 1909, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-first and Sixty-second Congresses, serving until 1913. An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he returned to Mount Pleasant and resumed the practice of law in until his death at age 82.
