Evelyn Beatrice LyBrand, of New Braunfels, passed away Monday, May 14, 2001, at Eden Home Inc. in New Braunfels at the age of 85 years. She was born to Fleet McDaniel and Rebecca Leon (Hightower) McDaniel on Nov. 27, 1915, in Ferris, Texas. She married Julius L. LyBrand in November of 1944 in Dallas, Texas, and was a New Braunfels resident for six years (formerly of Beaumont, Texas). Mrs. LyBrand was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaumont. She loved to cook, play Bridge and was a member of the Luncheon Club. She was a dedicated wife to Julius. Survivors include three sons: Julio LyBrand and wife Becky, of New Braunfels; Lee G. LyBrand and wife Mary, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Edward H. LyBrand and wife Linda, of Dripping Springs, Texas; six grandchildren; brother Fleet McDaniel Jr., of Dallas; sister Mary Louise Fuller, of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Julius L. LyBrand, on April 16, 1992. Graveside services and interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont with the Rev. Bill Lanigan officiating.
