US Congressman. Born in Lansing, Michigan, he engaged in wholesales, retail grocery business, was owner of three theaters in Lansing, served as a member of the board of aldermen (1910-17) and as a member of the Lansing Police and Fire Commission, (1918-28). In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third Congress, serving until 1935. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he served as postmaster at Lansing, (1935-43). He died at age 75 in Lansing, Michigan.
