Nelda Gaebler, 73, of the Five-In-One Community passed away on April 20, 2007. Nelda Rose was born March 17, 1934 in Wilbarger County to Louis and Elvera Albrecht Haseloff. She graduated from Lockett High School in 1952. She married her high school sweetheart Walter Max Gaebler. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Retired Teacher's Association.She is survived by her husband, Walter of Lockett; one son Max of Vernon; twin daughters, Cheryle Sanchez of Vernon and Sherry Henley of Littlefield; one sister, Helen McKay of Vernon and six grandchildren - Chris and Erik Sanchez, Jared and Serena Henley and Walt and Karla Gaebler. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her sister, Gladys Whalen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on the same day as Nelda. Nelda was the nicest person in the whole world. She had a heart of gold and was a gentle soul. She was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. Pallbearers were grandsons Chris and Erik Sanchez, Jarrod Henley and Walt Gaebler and sons-in-law Jimmy Henley and Floyd Sanchez.
