Ristine Dies; Native Iowan. Formerly Was Coach at Iowa State. Albert W. Ristine, 56, member of a pioneer Iowa family and one time athletic coach at Iowa State College, Ames, Ia., died Friday of a heart attack at Roanoke, Va.
Mr. Ristine, a native of Iowa, formerly lived in Des MOines and Fort Dodge, and in his younger days starred in football at old West Des Moines High school and later at Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass.
The Ristines made their home at North Holston, Va., for many years, where Mr. Ristine was associated in the management of a gypsum plant in a a nearby city.
Mrs. Ristiine was the former Mary Cookerly of Des Moines. She and two sons, Albert, jr., and Bobby, survive. Mrs. Ristine’s mother, Mrs. T.B.Cookerly, a widow and two sisters, Edmonia Cookerly and Mrs. W.E. Cordingley live in Des Moines.
The Ristines left Iowa 28 years ago. The father of Mr. Ristine was Dr. H.G. Ristine, pioneer Fort Dodge physician.
