Bob was born May 28, 1922, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. Bob married Gwendolyn Garman. Bob had been employed as a cook for many years at the Sioux City Senior Center. Following retirement in 1992, he moved to Iowa City and later Coralville, Iowa.
Survivors include his son, George Baker and Deb Smith of Coralville; his daughter, Barbara (Jonathan) Sweet of Story, Wyo.; and his brother, Burton Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Carrie Baker; infant son, Tommy; and his brother, Bruce.
