Timothy Blodgett was the son of Samuel and Mary Russell Blodgett of Lexington, Massachusetts.

Blodgett was a Minute Man in the Revolutionary Army who fought in Captain John Parker's Company at Lexington on April 19, 1775. He signed a petition at Lexington asking for compensation for having lost a gun while on duty.

Timothy Blodgett married Millicent Perry and they had thirteen children:
