Born in Dell, Quebec to Donald (aka "Melavi") and Katherine Campbell, Kenneth was one of eight boys and an adopted sister, Etta. He walked to Detroit, Michigan and met his wife, Enid MacKenzie at a dance. They had two children who survived into adulthood.

He worked at Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, Michigan in security. He bought his first home on Charlesworth in Dearborn Heights, Michigan and had eight grandchildren who adored him and loved playing kickball in his backyard, hiking in Hines Park, eating blueberry pancakes at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, chewing Dentyne gum, and sipping ginger ale and munching on Awrey's date cookies in the park. He loved boxing and hockey. He worn a perfect black fedora with a little red feather in the side. Loved to exercise and to eat healthy foods. He grew green peppers, tomatoes, rhubarb, radishes and carrots in his backyard and had nary a weed in that happy garden. Gave warm hugs to comfort little grandchildren.

He died two years after a debilitating stroke suffered in December 1974. He was a great and loving man.
