US Congressman. Served as Mayor of Meadville, Pennsylvania in 1891. Elected to represent Pennsylvania's 26th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1899 to 1901. He was interested in spiritualism from the age of 18. He served for 18 years on the Board of Directors of the spiritualist village of Lily Dale, NY and was President of the Lily Dale Assembly for 15 years. His picture hangs in honor in the Assembly Hall of Lily Dale. He was accidentally killed during a hunting trip to Lake Edward, Quebec, Canada.
